A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at 7:30 p.m. by the Santa Monica_Malibu Unified
School District Board of Education on Tuesday, December 5, 2000 in the Board
Room of the administrative offices, 1651 Sixteenth Street, Santa Monica,
California.

PUBLIC HEARING BEGINS AT 7:30 P.M.

Members of the public who want to address the Board should fill out the
"Request to Address the Board" card and submit it to the secretary.

II PUBLIC HEARING

Parents, community, staff and students are invited to address the Board of
Education
regarding the search for a new Superintendent of Schools for the Santa
Monica_Malibu
Unified School District. The Board is seeking expanded input that describes
the desired
skills, abilities and other attributes that members of the educational
community would
like to see included as part of the systematic search, interview and
selection
processes that will be conducted during the next five to six months.

Members of the public who are unable to attend the hearing may submit comments
in writing addressed to Superintendent Search, Santa Monica-Malibu Unified
School District, 1651 - 16th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90404.

III ADJOURNMENT

A second public hearing for the same purpose will be held at
7:00 p.m. on December 13, 2000 in the library of Malibu High School,
30215 Morning View Drive in Malibu.

The next regular meeting of the Board of Education is scheduled to be
held on Thursday, December 14, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room
of the District's Administrative Offices, 1651 16th Street, Santa Monica.
