    MODIFIED MEETING PROCEDURES DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC:

    • The Board of Education and executive cabinet staff will meet in-person in the District Administrative Offices: 1651 16th St., Santa Monica, CA.
    • Members of the public and other staff will be able to participate via Zoom.

    Public Comments VIA ZOOM: Assembly Bill 361 (9/2021) added section 54953(e) to the Government Code, authorizing a local agency to use teleconferencing without complying with the teleconferencing requirements imposed by the Ralph M. Brown Act during a declared state of emergency under specific scenarios.  The law remains in effect until January 1, 2024.  The Board of Education will adopt a resolution each month in compliance with AB 361 to allow for teleconferencing at the next month’s meetings.  Members of the public can observe a board meeting and give public comment virtually by filling out the online Google form linked at the top of that meeting's agenda. A person must complete the form prior to consideration of the specific agenda item the person wishes to address. Persons wishing to speak on an item not appearing on that meeting’s agenda may speak during the General Public Comments section by filling out the same Google form prior to the beginning of General Public Comments.  The Google Form will open no earlier than 30 minutes prior to closed session.
    Simultaneous Interpretation: Persons wishing to hear a board meeting in Spanish can log into the Zoom link (located at the top of an agenda) and select Spanish under the Interpretation button at the bottom of the Zoom screen.  
    "Hybrid" Meeting Format: The first board meeting in a month will follow Format A, the second meeting in a month will follow Format B, and in a month in which there is only one meeting, the Hybrid Format will be followed. 
    Time-certain Items: Those items listed for a specified time (marked in the title of the item) are so noted to give the public an indication of when the Board will hear that item. However, if it is prudent to do so, the Board may adjust the time stamp to complete an item currently on the floor, but will not delay the time stamped item for more than fifteen (15) minutes.

    MODIFICACIONES A LOS PROCEDIMIENTOS DE REUNIONES DEBIDO A LA PANDEMIA DE COVID-19:

    • La Mesa Directiva de Educación y el personal del gabinete ejecutivo se reunirán en persona en las oficinas administrativas del distrito ubicadas en: 1651 16th St., Santa Mónica, CA.
    • Los miembros del público y los demás empleados podrán participar via Zoom.

    Comentarios públicos VÍA ZOOM: El Proyecto de Ley 361 de la Asamblea (9/2021) agregó el artículo 54953 (e) al Código de Gobierno, autorizando a una agencia local a hacer uso del sistema de teleconferencias sin tener que cumplir con los requisitos de teleconferencias que impone la Ley Ralph M. Brown durante un estado de emergencia declarado en escenarios específicos.  La ley permanece vigente hasta el 1 de enero de 2024.  La Mesa Directiva de Educación adoptará una resolución cada mes en cumplimiento con el Proyecto de Ley AB 361 para permitir el uso de teleconferencias en las reuniones del próximo mes.  Los miembros del público pueden observar y realizar comentarios públicos de manera virtual completando el siguiente formulario en línea Google form (el enlace está an la parte superior de la agenda de esa reunión). Una persona debe completar el formulario antes de examinar el tema específico de la agenda que la persona desea abordar. Las personas que deseen hablar sobre un tema que no figure en la agenda de esta reunión pueden hacer uso de la palabra durante la sección de Comentarios del público general completando el mismo formulario de Google antes del comienzo de los comentarios del público general.  El formulario de Google se abrirá solo 30 minutos antes de la sesión cerrada.
    Interpretación simultánea Las personas que deseen escuchar una reunión de la mesa directiva en español pueden iniciar la sesión por medio del enlace de Zoom (ubicado en la parte superior de una agenda) y seleccionar español en el botón de Interpretación en la parte inferior de la pantalla de Zoom.  
    Formato de reunión "híbrido": La primera reunión de la mesa directiva del mes seguirá el formato A, la segunda reunión del mes seguirá el formato B, y en un mes en el que solo haya una reunión, se seguirá el formato híbrido. 
    Temas de horario determinado: Los temas enumerados para un horario específico (marcados en el título del tema) se anotan para dar al público una indicación de cuándo la mesa directiva abordará ese tema. Sin embargo, si es prudente hacerlo, la mesa directiva puede modificar el horario para completar un tema que actualmente está siendo tratado, pero no retrasará el tema con un horario determinado por más de quince (15) minutos.
