Expanded Learning Opportunities ProgramSMMUSD is proud to offer innovative, quality out-of-school-time experiences that prioritize a safe, nurturing environment promoting holistic student development and engagement through the SMMUSD Expanding Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP). Emphasizing skill-building, leadership opportunities, healthy choices, and equity-centered values. CLICK HERE to give your child priority, and in most cases FREE, access to a variety of programs.
ELOP will establish and maintain an educational environment which provides all individuals with the tools necessary to become lifelong learners. This quality program will ensure each child has the chance to participate responsibly in our changing society. Our philosophy is to develop a partnership with the parent/guardian and to provide, in their absence, a safe, nurturing, educational, and fun program in a child-centered environment.
ELOP Benefits
Students in expanded learning programs can benefit from an enhanced sense of confidence and belonging, stronger connections to peers and adults, higher attendance and interest in school, all while improving language skills, self-awareness and regulation, which enables them to be better students!Elementary School
ELOP Programs include various on-campus enrichments every day after school, and for well over 210 days per year, by qualified staff.
Elementary providers include: School Age Programs (SAP), Coastal Kids, Summer Aftercare, BGCM Campus Clubhouses (Webster, Malibu ES), SMBGC Playground Club, SMBGC Sports.

ELOP Programs include various on and off-campus enrichments every day after school, and for well over 210 days per year, by qualified staff.
Middle school providers include: SMMUSD Middle School Sports, BGCM Teen Center, SMBGC Main Branch, SMBGC JAMS Clubhouse. In ’24-25 look for the launch of the Lincoln "LION’s DEN" and JAMS “Great Room”, see below for more details.See Impact and Services page for more details.

There will be an exclusive priority enrollment period for Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP) students. Reserve your spot on the waitlist now before full program details are released to the masses. These programs are FREE for ELOP students (courtesy of the State of California!), and 'waitlisting' is in effect until the registration platform is launched later this summer.
ELOP eligible parents and guardians should have received an email with your student’s SMMUSD Student ID number from ELOP@SMMUSD.ORG.
