  • 7th Grade Course of Study

    In order to ensure a fun, productive and rewarding school year, respect, responsibility, and empowerment will be strongly emphasized in the 7th Grade World History class. This year we will study various world civilizations during the period of 500 AD – 1789 known as Medieval Times/Middle Ages. We will learn about Europe during Medieval Times, Islam in Medieval Times, the Culture and Kingdoms of West Africa (Ghana, Mali and Songhai), Imperial China, Japan During Medieval Times, Civilizations of the Americas (Maya, Aztecs, and Incas), Europe’s Renaissance and Reformation, and Europe Enters the Modern Age. Through our studies we will focus on skills related to geography, analytical and expository writing, interpreting visual data, public speaking, critical reading, and research. Students are expected to maintain a positive attitude, participate in all classroom activities and take responsibility for their own learning. 

    8th Grade Course of Study

    In 8th Grade, students study the history of the United States from approximately 1600 until 1900. Our curriculum focuses on the changing nature of America, from its beginning as a colony of a wealthy nation to its rise as an industrial power. Throughout the year, students will produce a wide variety of work including research reports, analytical essays, creative writing, illustrations and oral reports.
