Noche de Cesar Chavez: Celebrating Legacy and Community
Each March, we proudly host Noche de Cesar Chavez in honor of Cesar Chavez’s birthday and his enduring legacy of justice, equality, and dignity for all. This special event brings our school community together to celebrate the values he championed and to recognize the contributions of immigrant farmworkers and civil rights leaders like Dolores Huerta. Thanks to the dedication of our amazing ELAC parent group, families enjoy delicious traditional foods from across the Americas while supporting important PTA initiatives. The evening features heartfelt performances from our 1st and 2nd graders, who sing songs in Spanish celebrating culture and unity, and a moving 4th-grade performance of the play El Inmigrante, which highlights the struggle and strength of immigrant farmworkers. Through storytelling, song, and community, we honor the legacy of Cesar Chavez and remind one another of the power of using our voices to create meaningful change.
