After-School Enrichment Program

A comprehensive extracurricular theatre program, JAMS-SMASH Theatre Company is designed to teach students the fundamentals of theatre performance and production, as well as to rehearse for and stage a full-length musical each spring. Taught by Chad Scheppner, our fall workshop introduces 6th graders and other newcomers to the basics of song, dance, acting, and audition skills. Previous spring musicals include Into the Woods, Grease, Seussical, Oliver, Bye Bye Birdie, Anything Goes, Wonka, and Singin' in the Rain. There is no participation fee and everyone who auditions for the musical is cast.

Boys and Girls Club

The Boys and Girls of Santa Monica has a satellite station at John Adams Middle School. Activities, after-school tutoring, athletics, and special events are sponsored on campus every day after school. Membership is $25 per year and scholarships are available. No student is turned away! See your counselor or community liaison for a membership application.

CrossCurrents

CrossCurrents is a literary magazine published each semester that includes short stories, poems, essays, photos and drawings created by John Adams students. The club meets after school and is open to any John Adams student. Contact Mr. Saling in Room 95 (x195) for more info.
