Student Registration 2025-2026
-
There are two parts to registration. Each part is vital to complete in order to best prepare your students for the upcoming school year.
The first part of registration is the online data validation through your Aeries portal. During this part, we have important documents and information for you to review. Please be sure to read and discuss all the materials with your student.
The second part of registration is the in-person portion referred to as “Get Your Stuff” day. During this part, your student will pick-up their required current year school ID card, receive their fall 2025 schedule, check-out some of their textbooks, and more.
Details about the timeframes for each part of registration can be found below.
Part #1: Required Forms and Data Validation
You will complete the first part of registration through your Aeries portal beginning Tuesday, July 22nd. During this part, you will go through several steps on Aeries asking you to review and update emergency information, as well as review and acknowledge several important, required documents. Please be sure to read each form carefully and review the information with your student. This will also be your first opportunity to make purchases and donations for the upcoming school year.
Go to the Aeries Parent Portal through our website, https://www.smmusd.org/samohi, and sign on using your email and password. If you forgot your password, click “forgot password” in order to reset it. If you have not activated the parent portal, please email samoregistration@smmusd.org for assistance.
If you do not have internet access or would like assistance with the online data validation or part one of registration, drop in to our workshop in D103 on Monday, July 28th.
Data Validation, Part #1 of registration, must be completed by Sunday, August 3rd, to ensure an Off-Campus Lunch and/or ASB Pass is printed on your student’s ID card.
If you are unable to complete this part of registration prior to coming on campus to the “Get Your Stuff” day, you must begin at the computer lab, D103.*
*Please note: This will increase the amount of time needed to be on campus to complete your in-person registration during your “Get Your Stuff” day.Part #2: In-Person “Get Your Stuff” Days
The second portion of registration is the in-person “Get Your Stuff” days. During this portion, your students will have the opportunity to pick up their class schedule, take their school picture, pick up their ID card, check-out their textbooks, and handle other important items for the fall. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with their Advisor if they need to discuss modifications to their courses.
Your assigned day is based on grade level and time based on your last name. Please refer to the schedule below:
It is highly recommended that your student attends in-person registration rather than having to take time to do all these tasks once school has started on the first day of school. If you are unable to attend your assigned time and/or day, you will be allowed to come in after your appointment, but not prior.
In order to avoid longer lines and to decrease the amount of time required during the in-person registration, be sure to complete Part #1 of registration, Required Forms and Data Validation, on Aeries prior to Sunday, August 3rd.
Orientation Day
Friday, August 15, 2025, 12:30 to 2:00 PM
Freshmen and New StudentsTo ensure your student is off to a great start at Samohi, our student leaders and staff have planned an orientation to help incoming freshmen and new students begin the process of getting to know the campus, their peers, some upperclassmen, some teachers, as well as their advisor and House Principal. At this event, we will be providing freshmen with their complete schedule so they will know what to expect on the first day of school. Basically, the purpose of this event is to help incoming students begin forming the bonds of a true team and to provide students with the information that will help them meet the challenges and nerves of the first day with calm confidence. Please reserve this date to join other students and staff for this great opportunity to have fun together, meet some adults on campus, and make new friends.
Summer Reading Reminder
All students are encouraged to complete the summer reading tied to their grade-level essential question. Students should explore five resources, one from each category: short story, poem, article, video, and podcast found on the Summer Reading website. These materials will support the first weeks of English class in the fall. Find all grade-level links on the Samohi English Department website. In addition, all juniors are encouraged to read the book Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. Copies are available for checkout in the Samohi textbook office.
Join the Viking Community
The best way to thrive in high school is to be part of the community by attending and participating in the various school activities offered. During the registration process, purchase an ASB Pass ($75) to get free admission to football and basketball games (except CIF playoff games). Additionally, the pass will provide discounts on other items, including tickets to school plays, concerts, Homecoming, ID reprints, and even Prom. The estimated total savings is over $100.
